Colors for a Bygone Era

This is a colorization of a photo of the 19-year-old Datu Balon, a Bagobo Chieftain by Alex Lim. The original black and white photo was photographed by the Gerhard Sisters circa 1902-1902 and became part of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1904.

This is a colorized vintage portrait of a woman from the Itneg tribe found in the northern Philippines, particularly in the Abra province. Apart form the Malay race features (no blues or green eyes), several coloring options on the clothes and ornaments can be made and this is one I did. The original vintage photo below was among the few large portraits I can find only dealing with Philippine historic fashions and peoples.
