Ottawa, Ontario 1953 Old Union Train Station - Although many people walk by it today without thinking twice, this building was once the main transport hub in Ottawa which worked in great conjunction with the Rideau Canal. Today there is nothing left inside of its railroad history and sits as a conference centre with many offices. My favourite building in Ottawa. Old Train Station, Angeles, Railroad History

Ottawa Tech on Albert St. It opened in 1913 as a woman's college; the Ottawa Tech moved in there in 1916, and closed their doors in 1992. I remember in the 60's it was a very popular high school. Capital City, Multi Story Building, High School, Areas, Olds, History

Saturday Shopping, with an aerial showing site of the future site of the Rideau Mall in 1974. That brown building on the left with the odd white addition on the back is the old Ottawa postal terminal. Made sense there, when the tracks led right up to it. Diaper Girl, Historical Photos

Taking it easy in Strathcona Park, not too long after the park was built (1904-1907) by the Ottawa Improvement Commission, forerunner of the NCC. Previously used as a rifle range, I'm assuming the butts were in the cliff face across the park. That is the isolation hospital on the top of the hill. (From the Special Report of the OIC, 1912.)
