The American Civil War was a young man's war and none were younger than the drummer boys. This one looks no more than sixteen. American quarter plate tintype.

Outstanding CDV of two Union veteran soldiers proudly holding the battled and tattered colors from the 111th Pennsylvania Volunteers. The PV participated in some of the wars largest battles, including Antietam, Chancellorsville, Rappahannock Station, Lookout Mountain and Gettysburg.

Fabulous attitude in this pose by this unidentified soldier with his arm resting casually on the back of the chair. Wears Confederate cavalry uniform and snake belt buckle with two revolvers tucked in ready to fire away at any Union foe  when given the chance.  *s*

CDV c.1865 of Female "Daughter of The Regiment" Vivandiere. These dedicated women would voluntarily travel with a Civil War Regiment and act as Nurse / Mascot for the Unit. CDV backmarked with T.M.V. & E.V. Doughty of Winsted, Connecticut.

Issued early 1861, Maryland Confederate Session Ribbon. This appeared when it looked like Maryland would join the CSA. Lincoln of course took steps to prevent this secession. General Butler occupied Annapolis and state legislators were arrested. "Death Before Dishonor" quoted at bottom of the ribbon.  *s*
