When performing an inspection at an electricians house, the electrician (homeowner) told us that we would not find any electrical issues in the house and everything is to code.
While doing a home inspection on a single family home in Chicago we came across a deck with a cracked ledger board and missing lag bolts. These two things items being installed and in tact are extremely important for the structural integrity of the deck.
After walking a sloped deck in a back yard that is on a hill. We came across many of the support post that were not level or fastened to a footing.
The main electric feed into the panel is aluminum and has cloth insulation. At the very least the main electrical line needs to be oxidized so the wire does not over heat.
It is against protocol to have flex drain lines for any type of drain lines. This lines are ribbed and drainage will be poor. As well as the drain line is being bent.
Cloth aluminum wires in an electrical panel are a safety issue. We need to see copper wiring with plastic insulation. Always very important to have the electrical panel cover removed and have all wires inspected for the right size wire and not cloth insulation.
The soffit vents in the attic are blocked with insulaition. the proper way a roof needs to be breath is adding baffles in the attic to open up the soffits vents. This way there will be air flow from the soffit vents out to the roof vents. Creating a proper air flow for efficency
Improper flashing on the siding where it hits the roof line. This will lead to peeling paint and wood rot.
