Nike’s market cap recently eclipsed $77 billion. They have been making a huge push into the soccer market and that, in return, has tremendously helped their brand awareness across the world. What’s most interesting about Nike right now, however, is its growing focus on technology. Last year, Nike filed over 500 patents. A company record. Nike entered the wearables market with the Fuel Band. They also have held a long partnership with Apple, building apps for exercise and health. It is probably only a matter of time before your shows and perhaps even your clothes are totally synched with an app on your phone. Imagine the data it could collect and share.
