Here are some tips from Tuesday's #MoneySmartWeekCOS session focused on understanding credit and getting out of debt: 1. Evaluate your current debt and organize your list from smallest to largest. 2. Pay off debt from smallest to largest, don't just move it around. 3. Plan a monthly budget, and include a cushion for unexpected expenses. 4. Avoid expensive, high penalty loans. 5. Limit the number of open credit card accounts and only borrow what you can repay. Community Conversation participants said most affordable housing couldn't be found on bus routes or near the type of jobs needed to sustain themselves or their families. People also observed that many apartment complexes are being built in less dense parts of town.
