"The Victorious Youth"-A BRONZE Greek statue's survival is a rarity! However, this statue, like the Riace statues, survived a Roman shipwreck in the Adriatic Sea, only to be discovered 2,000 years later by divers or fishermen. Romans once took these statues for a variety of purposes such as to be admired, or to be melted down and re-used for building materials. We are fortunate that a few survived.
