Once dry base paint, also split your stitch lines & paint w/ a blood color. After base paint dries, add the eye, & lower eyelid. Glue satin embroidery thread, pulled apart to make the eye bloodshot. The lower lid is made the same as the upper gluing cardboard around the eye. To add puffiness below the eye, glue cotton around the lower lid then covered the area with mod podge & tissue paper. When dry base paint under eye & then using a dry brush dust in shading & highlighting.
Making sure the rolls are large enough to be cut down the middle.. Once the stitch rolls are glued & dry shaped a piece of cardboard for the upper eyelid using a 26mm half round eye from ebay glued the lid down, but NOT the eye. Mod podge the top along with the stitch lines & lid, add a piece of tissue paper across the top, gently working the paper around the edges of the stitch lines, & up inside the upper lid leaving enough excess on the outer edges to be folded over into the book.
Make thin rolls of bakeable clay to form your snakes & the ring for the clasp around the eye. Once your clay snakes are baked paint them if needed, then glue them to the cover of your book. The ring I made for the eye is not an actual clasp but only lips over the edge of the upper book cover. Also the clasp on the book in the movie is a little different. & you now have a "Hocus Pocus" style spell book!
