The Pahiyas Festival by Manuel Baldemor Filipino Art, Filipino Culture, Filipino House, Color Wheel Projects, Festival Paint, Philippine Art, Christmas Paintings, Scripture Art, Naive Art

The Pahiyas Festival is one of my favorite paintings from one of my favorite contemporary artists, Manuel Baldemor. It captures the Filipino 'sense of space' where all space is occupied with objects, as one might see in a Filipino house, w/c is the way Filipinos also relate with each other -- close connections --a sense of community and multitude. Also, the Filipino sense of vibrant colors as shown in photos of the actual fiesta (see my post "Pahiyas Festival" on this same board).

Fernando Amorsolo y Cueto, Filipino painter, was an important influence on contemporary Filipino art and artists, even beyond the so-called "Amorsolo school". Subjects: Philippine Genre, historical and society Portraits. Filipino Art, Philippine Art, Ocean Sunset, Genre, Art Portfolio, New Artists, Portrait, Impressionism, Creative Art

Fernando Cueto Amorsolo (The Philippines 1892-1972) Ocean sunset signed and dated 'F. Amorsolo Manila 1937' (lower right) oil on panel 18½ x 25½ in. (46 x 63 cm.) Painted in 1937

Happy Mother's Day! This brilliantly colored oil painting by Pelayo Lopez warmly shows the love of a mother for her child. Mr. Lopez hopes that the painting will convey his belief that in life, we should only require a few simple needs to be happy, and the most valuable possession of all is the love of our family Title: A Few Simple Things Artist: Pelayo Lopez, Philippinnes
