Middle School Art: Mixed Media Cityscapes
Do w/o sculpt part - Students looked at various examples of cityscapes, specifically the collage work of Romare Bearden. Students created their own mixed media cityscapes by layering various types of cardboard, cork board and wood pieces, painting it black and adding oil pastel for color and texture.

Gelli® Printing with DIY Cardboard Texture Plates! You can also trace a stencil onto the cardboard and use that as your guide for carving the cardboard! Cut along the lines and remove the top layer of paper — leaving the areas that are the 'holes' in the stencil — to create your pattern.
