I love to use write the room activities in my classroom. I use at least one every week. My 1st grade class loves how engaging they are! This place value activity is a way to have your students practice with tens and ones while they are having fun moving around the room! It is a perfect math center!

Place Value Game
Place Value Partners Game from Laura Candler - Awesome for math centers! - Place value game includes two versions: Traditional terms and Common Core terms - Each version has several levels covering both whole numbers and decimals. Appropriate for 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade.
Use teddy bear counters to teach number comparison! Laminate the number comparison work mat without signs (see previous pin). Arrange bears in 3 sets of 2 groups each: one equal set, one less than set, and one greater than set. Give your child a dry-erase marker and have her label each set with the correct sign. To add an element of surprise, place cups over the piles. Tell child that the bears are sleeping in their caves; we are going to wake them up to see which neighbor family has more cubs!
