On Jan. 28, 2015, the Air Force officially announced that the Boeing 747-8 will be the next generation of Air Force One planes. This next generation of presidential airplanes will reportedly begin service in 2017. The 747-8 features a lengthened fuselage, redesigned wings and improved efficiency all round. It is also the largest 747 version, the largest commercial aircraft built in the United States and the longest passenger aircraft in the world.
