Two-pieced dress, possibly British, ca. 1895-1900, in dark blue silk rep. Bodice with high collar, leg o' mutton sleeves, wide lapels of blue moiré and inset of beige silk twill. Comes to a point front and back, lined with cotton, and closes with hooks & eyes. Raised skirt with pocket in right seam. Belt in dark blue velvet. Skirt is ribbed silk and bodice has gathered black chiffon cuffs, puffed sleeves, and pigeon breasted-blouse front that would persist in popularity into the early 1900s.
