I love the idea.. I’d do this with an older, more detailed, cabinet and painted in a different color... maybe add a lead paned stained glass wall or detail somewhere .. the sides or the doors..

Took an old armoire and turned it into a coffee bar. Was really simple to do. There are so many ways that you could decorate this piece. Also, you can use the under storage space for appliances that are not wanted on your counter tops. My hubby to be loves it too

Kitchen islands are expensive! And they are not very cute. I took an old HEMNES 3-drawer chest and re-purposed it into a country kitchen island.
