There are only a handful of colonial towns left in the Philippines, and Taal, a few hours outside Manila by bus, is one of them. One of its grandest remaining homes is the Villavicencio Wedding Gift House built in 1872 by a family that helped finance the Philippine revolution. It's now a museum that also rents out its bedrooms like a B&B, only they're filled with original furniture and look like they should be off-limits behind a velvet rope.
