Did you know that the tooth fairy is an American icon and doesnt really travel outside of the United States? However she is a distant cousin to La Petite Souris the French mouse who has traded money for lost teeth since the 17th century! - A Wild Smile | #Denver | #CO | http://ift.tt/1M5wkbe

One of the earliest references to the Tooth Fairy that we know and love was in an article in the Chicago Daily Tribune in 1908: "Many a refractory child will allow a loose tooth to be removed if he knows about the tooth fairy. If he takes his little tooth and puts it under the pillow when he goes to bed the tooth fairy will come in the night and take it away and in its place will leave some little gift." #DentalHistory - A Wild Smile | #Denver | #CO | http://ift.tt/1M5wkbe
