Tatsu - Usually found far away from human habitation, these majestic Japanese dragons are thought to be godlike in power and origin, and are heavily associated with water sources and stormy weather. They are capable of shapeshifting in order to interact with humans, and are often prayed to in the hope that they will bring good weather and productive harvests of crops. Some Buddhist temples maintain areas of holy ground dedicated to the wise dragons.
